Sensei’s Comments
This was the zemi’s first time to sell something at an event in Tokyo. Some events, like Comiket, give you a minimalist space at no charge. Others, like Design Festa, charge for the size of the space and rent tables. Although Fish and Bites got the simplest package (it consisted of a table and a wall, shown in the pictures), members astutely realized that they would have to spend some time decorating the booth. This was an unexpected addition to the list of things they had to do.
As the event was all day, the group decided to divide responsibility for selling into three shifts. I showed up in the morning to help set up, meeting two other members. Around lunch another group came. At any time, there were two people working at the booth, and I think that worked well although I don’t think this was a conscious choice on the part of the group.
